DescriptionBlack and white photograph of Charles W. Dryden at Moton Field, Alabama, which was purchased by Tuskegee Institute in 1941. Dryden joined the 99th Fighter Squadron after graduating from pilot class 42D. the plane is Stearman PT-17 Kaydet. Dryden wrote a book about his experiences in World War II called A-Train: Memoirs of a Tuskegee Airman.
