Eaker, Commander-in-Chief of the Mediterranean Allied Air Forces; Nathan Twining, commanding officer of the 15th Air Force; Benjamin O. Davis Sr.; and Dean Strother, commanding officer of the 306th Fighter Wing visited the 332nd Fighter Group in Ramitelli expressly to award the DFCs.
