Aboriginal hand sticks
Aboriginal hand sticks
TitleAboriginal hand sticks
Description2 painted sticks ; 11'' long x 1.5'' round; The hand sticks are usually used in a musical ensemble in which the chief participant, usually the song owner, sings as he beats together the sticks. In such ensembles there may be two or more stick-beating singers, but never more than one didgeridoo player. In eastern parts of Arnhem Land the didgeridoo player may also beat a stick against the tube of the instrument to synchronise with the singer's stick beats.
