In the early 1980s, Allerton Public Library created audiocassettes interviewing prominent local citizens. Subsequently the cassettes were digitized to CD and their information was added to the IHLS Digital Gems website.
Non-museum quality replicas and art objects from around the world are available for loan to educators from the Giertz Education Center at Krannert Art Museum. The items are intended to be touched and examined closely by students, leading to a more complete understanding of the culture from which the object comes.
